Flexan is a global strategic contract manufacturer of custom high-quality silicone and thermoplastic components, sub-assemblies and devices designed to meet the critical requirements of Class I, Class II and Class III medical devices, as well as custom compounding and molding for precision parts.

The EHS Manager is responsible for managing, directing, coordinating, monitoring, and driving the implementation of environmental, health, and safety activities and policies of the Company in the plant, to improve EHS performance consistent with corporate goals and meet/exceed highest ethical standards of Flexan.

KEY ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

·    Provide leadership, cohesiveness, and vision in the plant for all EHS related matters.

·    Promote teamwork through open communication and maintaining collaborative relationships.

·    Develop and implement applicable health and safety program.

·    Facilitate connectivity between plant staff.

·    Establish, interact, and monitor third-party services with respect to EHS activities.

·    Understand and interpret local EHS laws and regulations and design processes and programs to adapt to changing regulations.

·    Investigate all deficiencies and legal threats, identify root causes and appropriate corrective action.  Ensure that all corrective actions are completed in a timely manner.

·    Lead the development and continuous updating of performance EHS measures tied to short term and long-term plant and company goals.

·    Develop and manage EHS training for the plant, including the development of minimum requirements, programs, and policies.

·    Provide policy guidance and direction.

·    Manage the process of identifying on-going and future environmental, health, and safety needs, and develop comprehensive strategies to meet those needs.

·    Establish, manage, and execute the plant EHS Audit Program.

·    Keep track of local insurance improvement plans

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with EHS discipline. Management of EHS program preferred.
  • BS in EHS, Safety Engineering or related technical field required.  
  • Professional certification preferred (Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Hazardous Material Manager, or country equivalent).
  • In-depth knowledge of governmental regulations.
  • Experience with industry and safety related software preferred.
