POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This seasoned sales professional will excel in cultivating and developing new customers and revenue growth in the targeted product and geographic markets.  Individual will have the ability to communicate and sell to all levels of an organization as well as communicate with personnel in purchasing, engineering, and quality.  Must have a proven track record of building and managing a sales pipeline as well as demonstrated reliable revenue forecasting experience.  Responsible for developing and launching marketing strategy to support sales plan.  This person will be comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively while being a positive reflection of Flexan’s corporate values.


RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Expand, prospect, and develop pipeline of new strategic customers in the U.S. medical device market located within the established geography (Top 30/100 OEMs).  Analyze the market, refine our value proposition, and identify opportunities to grow the business.
  • Drive for results, identify the right opportunities in our target markets and capabilities.  Develop winning value proposition for manufacturing solutions, identify key stakeholders and confirm decision criteria.  Work closely with NSM and V.P. Sales & Marketing (VPS & M) on the economic proposal what resources are required to successfully close new business and exceed our customer needs and expectations.  Successfully manage the process all the way through from account development to sales of production components.
  • Strategic Account New Business Penetration:  Works with NSM and National Account Manager (NAM) to identify new business opportunities to increase sales and improve customer satisfaction within Flexan’s strategic accounts.
  • Achieve annual new business wins quota and non-revenue related objectives.
  • Expectation to grow and manage sales pipeline, ensure accuracy and timely input of data, and including details supporting new opportunities on a weekly basis.  Review monthly the pipeline opportunity report and key updates to large opportunities with NSM and VPS & M.
  • Keep management informed by submitting weekly prospecting and lead generation activity and results reports such as call reports, market trends and competitive activity.
  • Establish collaborative and efficient processes to align and communicate with Quoting team, NPD engineering, Quality, and operational functions to execute new projects.
  • Partner with NPD Engineering to resolve project solutions and issues; involving the appropriate resources to get the issue resolved; and making recommendations to management.
  • Support Flexan’s marketing strategy through diligent prospecting and providing feedback on the status of effectiveness and needs.
  • Support trade show presence with colleagues by assembling, manning, and disassembling trade show booth.

REQUIRED SKILLS / ATTITUDES:
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing or a technical field (e.g., engineering, chemistry)
  • Proven track record in developing new sales in medical device market; minimum 5 years
  • Successful sales process system (lead generation and prospect qualification through final sale and support)
  • Consultative selling
  • Required sales experience in manufacturing environment
    • Experience with sales metrics, performance indicators, and forecasting
    • Experience with web-based marketing a plus
  • Sales Skills: achieving sales goals, closing skills, prospecting skills, business acumen and negotiation, self-confidence, technical product knowledge, presentation skills, and ability to maintain client relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly at all levels of the organization (face-to-face, verbal, written)

  • Travels required to support territory needs.
